After what appears to be a particularly long and hot summer, many of us are welcoming the cooler fall temperatures. This time of year can be whenever we start to consider how best to make a cosy ambiance in our living spaces with earthy fall tones and lavish, welcoming textures.
REGAL LOOKING BEDHEADS RULE
Upholstered bed-heads have been trending for some time now and for valid reason. They are attractive and comfy and might come in a selection of colors and fabrics. Personally, I really like velvet, but there are also some bright, contemporary bed-heads that are upholstered in timeless linen.
THROWS, RUGS AND CUSHIONS
Lastly, throws and rugs are what’s going to make the best cosiness on colder nights. A mohair throw in coordinating colors, casually strewn throughout a sofa not only looks fantastic but might also add a thickness of texture and color to your living room. Add some plump (with real feather inserts) cushions along with a fashionable Morrocan wool rug and you’ve got winter fashion covered.
LOUNGING IN STYLE
In the living or sitting area, longer, wider sofa options are a trend, as are ottomans. These classic sofa additions enable you to stretch out when cosying up for a night in and a TV binge. Ottomans also (be very useful) to place snacks and drinks on also, so it’s more practical to choose these in colors that are darker.
THE BIG BUFFET TREND
The classic buffet is back in a huge way. These functional pieces of furniture are ideal for storing nasty electrical items along with other essential items you need, but don’t necessarily need to display. There’s a vast selection of designs, so that you might easily match the size and style of the buffet to fit your space.
